Hey- Darrin Slone of the B Battery 5/3 FA here!
Anyone from 87 - 90 time frame out there? I would love to hear from anyone in the old gang - or anyone that was at Rivers during that time.

I didn't show up until August that year. I remember that Svc Battery had a cool BC.

Hey Darrin,

I was in B 5/3 too, 86 - 89. I don't remember you - sorry, thought I knew everyone in the battery during my stay there. Do you remember Brent Kemp (AKA Hit Man), Marty Kunder, Dave Ballard, Randy Dickenson?

Mid 87 I hooked up with a German girl and moved into her parents APT. German's are so damm liberal, man it was a great time of my life. I had to maintain my room on post, but was never there.

Did you go on the battery trips to Spain? That was crazy, if I remember right we went in 87 and 89. The 87 trip we almost got kicked out of the hotel because the guys tossed furniture, beer cans and other stuff from the 6th floor balcony into the pool. Our LT talked the hotel manager into keeping us, big mistake! We put that place through hell for a week. The next day one of the guys, drunk or course, knocked an old lady down the stairs. That was a fun trip...

Everyone in the BTRY knew me as DJ Smith or DJ.

Hey do you remember First SGT Billy Burman - what an not a very nice person he was. He replaced SFC Lesi Hopper, (acting jack First SGT). SFC Hopper was tough as nails - a true old school Army warrior from Dallas TX. I would love to know what happened to him.

Drop me a line when you get a chance, we had to know a few of the same guys. I talk to Randy Dickenson and Dave Ballard still, but would like to know what happened to the other knuckle heads form the ZOO.

DJ Smith
