DR. JOSEPH FARRAR MORGANTON — Dr. Joseph Webb Farrar, 66, of Morganton, died June 17, 2005, at his residence. He was born March 19, 1939, in Gaston County, son of the late Miles Pinckney and Elizabeth Henkle Farrar. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Saturday, at Burkemont Baptist Church, Morganton PRIVATE INTERMENT: Will be held at a later date VISITATION: After service at the church Dr. Farrar graduated from Mount Holly High School, Davidson College and UNC School of Dentistry, where he finished at the top of his class. After graduation in 1965, Dr. Farrar entered the US Army as a captain and was head of the Rivers Barracks Dental Clinic in Giessen, Germany, for the duration of his two year tour of duty. Dr. Farrar began practicing dentistry in Morganton in 1967, where he has practiced until May 1st of this year. He was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church. SURVIVORS: Wife of 40 years, Catherine Powell Farrar of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Webb and Christina Farrar II, Woodbridge, Va., Joseph Jeffrey and Ingrid Farrar, Rutherford College, NC, Joseph Benjamin Farrar, Louisville, Ky; beloved grandson, Reed Jeffrey Farrar, Rutherford College, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Farrar and George Byrd, Greenville, SC OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev.
