Hi Gang. I was station at River Barracks in 1973 with C Battery. I have great memories of my time spent there. I would like to make contact with the following people who I served with; Steve Rice from Sacramento, Tommy Wright from Tennessee, and Danny Faris from Beaverton Oregon. We had a great Captain by the name of Captain Cardinal. Look forward to hearing more stories.

WE HAD A SP/5 MECHANIC IN B BATTERY NAMED GLEN MURPHY BUT I BELIEVE HE WAS FROM BERLIN, PENNSYLVANIA THE OTHER WAS A RED HAIRED GUY FROM CALIFORNIA NAMED DOUG DELANEY AND OUR WHEEL MECHANIC WAS A BLACK GUY NAMED ROBERT FOSTER FROM NASHVILLE TN. SSG PITT WAS OUR MOTOR SERGEANT, HE'S NOW SGM RETIRED PITT AND LIVES IN COLORADO, I SPOKE WITH HIM ABOUT A YEAR AGO. DO YOU REMEMBER THE TAYLORS? THEY WERE BATTALION MECHANICS, UNRELATED, ONE WAS FROM HANNIBAL MO I DON'T REMEMBER WHERE THE OTHER WAS FROM. MR. MICOLOTTA WAS BN MOTOR OFFICER, GOT IN A BUNCH OF TROUBLE OVER A MISSING ENGINE AFTER HE ROTATED AND HE WAS REPLACED BY MR. DOUG FOX, CW2.

The time frame was 1968, Glenn was from N.H., one of the guys was a guy from Brooklyn (I went to the same high school as him) I believe his name was Arroyo??, and the other fellow was a Polish guy from PA. Steve Berziski????he served in the Big Red One in Viet Nam. I forget the Sgt.'s name who ran the Motor Pool, he had a German wife. I was only there for about six months, then went to the 65th DPU in Hiedelberg. While I was in the 2/92 we had a change of Commanding Officer, he gave a nice farewell to the Red Devils.

I was in Rivers aka the ZOO from 1979 to 1982 I was in B Battery 2-92 wo whom of you was there the same time I was and battery and unit just maybe I run into some of the same nuts that I was stationed with. That was a crazy place for sure at least they kept the weapons locked up and ammo unlike Detroit ,MI where I was from everyone had weapons and loaded . When I got there I couldnt beleave I joined the Army to get out of Detroit and all its troubles and walked into that place but there was good times there to and made lots of friends . Maybe why I servived that place is I was use to things far more violent then Rivers was and just over looked it . So if any of you was there in that time contact me god its been a long time sence I left that place oh ya anyone got a Licher Beir they can pass my way lol.

I believe that there are a lot of 2/92 vets out there that have no idea that this Web-site is here. Is there some way to get the word out? I ran across it by chance, while playing on the computer.

Hello, I am a new member. I was stationed at Giessen river barracks between 1959-1961. I was in the service btry. I was a tank mechanic and drove a M74 ARV. I repaired the 8inch self-propelled Howitzer. I have photos that I would like to have posted. Who do I send them to?
