B-BTRY 2/92 1985-1987 Cpl. Marty Horvatich. I was in the Special Weapons. I remember Brummit, Boyles, Danny Smith, Dan Weidemann, Frisbee, Sgt. Sturgill, Sgt. Bennett, Tyler, Clark, Sandstrom, Cliff "Vick" Vickers, Brackett, Lt. Dean Dorko. Fond memories of a bunch of the clubs.....The Big Apple, The Mott, eating bratwurst after a hard night of drinking from the Imbiss Stands....Geissner Beer and Licher Beer.... Graf....Stab & Jab, Sweaty Betty, Tent City, Camp Aachen, boar hogs, etc etc How about the old german guy that cut our hair, Chop-Chop. He used to snap his scissors like he was cutting your hair, even though you didnt need it. All Good Times!!!! Ps. Don't forget about the Rendevous..The hottest spot at the Zoo. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5F3KJfdgBjUMarty Horvatich marty881@gmail.com (419) 951-9300 Norwalk, Ohio (Serving in Afghanistan as a contractor)

I served over there in 1980-1982, I was friends with Danny Wright, Anthony Tripodi. I am living in Ohio and would love to hear from anyone who might have served during this time or any other. I am a good friend of Kelly Rogers from Texas. Hope to hear from anyone soon. Roger

Dale O. Brummett, I remember you and we go further back then 2/92 we were in basic together at Ft. Sill. I went to Battery A and you went to Battery B. I left Giessen in 83 pcsed over to Fort Lewis. Yes I miss a lot about those days, and I never did thank you for taking me on my first trip to Three Windows, that was a great way for a dumb farm boy from Indiana to start his Army life.

I too was in A Battery 2/92 Special Weapons from November 81 to November 83. We went through three chiefs in that time. Corporal Hopper, Sergeant Holder then Franco. It was strange being in a separate building from the rest of the firing battery.

In answer to your question the 2/92 was reflagged as 4th Bn 7th FA regiment in 1988. I served on Rivers in FDC in C-2/92 and then C-4/7 from 86-89. Good training.

Thanks for the update as I was getting ready to leave an they was changing us over out of 5th corp to something that looked like a girl scout gadge .
Thankfully me being a short timer I was not pushed into having to buy them and remove the 5th corp one .
But then just maybe some of the boys that was there whom was living a dream and trying to keep the bad reputation that rivers had biult up going never saw the reason for that .
Just a few bad apples can spoil the whole thing if you know what I mean , I myself was born in Detroit Michigan and raised there and was use to some things one difference between what went on in Detroit and Rivers Barracks was this.
In Rivers it was just a small group of people wanting to live out a want to be bad azz or mobster attetude in dertroit it was not a want to be it was just the way it was and still is.
Good thing they kept the weapons locked up and ammo never know what they would have pulled then Rivers and its Units was a good thing and good training and some good times too. Just only if someone would have punished the want to be's real hard and break them from what they was doing one way or the other but they didnt or at least while I was there they didnt.
I just wish the 2/92 would have stayed alive and the Post still there for others to serve there as myself and many other did but time goes by and we get older and nothing stay forever.

My 1st duty station was B 2/92 in the Ammo section from '80 -'82. I served with James Taylor, Al Biglow, Kevin Watts, Bill Conlan and a few others that I can't recall. Our "fearless leader" was Sgt Tony Accetella. That time frame was my first real experience with adult life and I won't soon forget it.
