Hey martin...marty, I was in HHB from 76 to 79. Do you remember anyone like MSG Nelson or SSG McDonald?
Or maybe the motor pool guys, whose names slip my memory. I remember that two of them were married to German women and had been in the motor pool for years. They just kept reenlisting to stay at the Zoo.
I was SP4 Hamrick and I was in S3 as a gofer. I partied with people all over the place, I had friends in every Zoo battalion, Marburg, Giessen and a lot of the little towns and villages. Sometimes we went to Frankfurt....To Party!... Heh.
Remember the stains under some of the windows and how everyone ignored them?
I was trained 13E but never plotted a fire mission. I was Bn FO for awhile and ran the Bn radio net. While we were in the field (All the time) I logged all the batteries on (FM) every morning at 0500 or 0600. Authenticate Lima Charley Five Niner Delta. Or some crazy crap.
Good to see someone here who was there then. Strange how time takes away the pain and misery of being in the Army.
I loved Giessen (And Marburg) and will someday return. Sounds strange to travel all the way to Germany and visit Giessen, but that's how it is.

Chilm. Haven't heard that word in many a year. I was in B battery 2/92 73-74. LOTS of good times. Better then being in Nam. Miss a lot of the old boys. I remember Minick, Gibbons, Dean(crazy ass) Brown, Smitty, Juzang, Goulf and SGT. Shu.

I still check from time to time, but service battery doesn't seem to have anyone who knows about it or don't seem to care. I served in battalion supply(S4) from 67 to 69 , and while I didn't really like being in the Army, I still enjoyed Germany and Rivers Barracks and good old 2nd of the92nd when we weren't in the field.
