Interesting enough I found some units that were here around that time: The 331st left Hof and established their company quarters at Rivers Barracks in Giessen, Germany with the 307th C.R. Bn., this took place in 1952, the month I am unsure of. Operations were established on the other side of town near another Kaserne and all trick personnel were transported to work in the back of 2 1/2. It was during this time a lot of our ranks were being filled with reservist from the states, while waiting my time to depart to the states, I trained some of these newcomers in "net" procedures. Len Bittner 114/331 I was at Giessen for a couple of days in May of 1954, joined the 331st C.R. Co. in the field for the summer. We returned to Giessen for the winter of 1954 to 1955. In April 1955 the 331st C.R. Co. moved to Rothwesten and I went to Bahrdorf for the summer. Can remember the cold rides in the back of a deuce and a half going to operation building a couple of miles away. Dean Slagle 331/307
There are also several pictures on that website I found from the Rivers as well as the Depot...I will post them later in our photo album. www.nasaa-home.org/asa/slagle/giessen.html

had a good time at Rivers Barracks when I arrived in the summer of 53 the 331st was in the field, no one knew I was coming. the only one in the barracks was Frank Page from the mess hall. He got me settled in I worked with him going to the railhead to send supplies to the out station. When the unit came back from the field I was assigned to supply with Sgt. Glenn Slagel Sam Baker was in charge of weapons I don't remember what Herb Tobias job was. Sargent Remky was in charge they used to call him pumpkin belly. I remember walking around in a T-shirt in December of that year. Best Regards to all that served in Rivers Barracks J Comerford j.comerford@comcast.net Cambridge MA 02140-2514
