Remember all of the old 548"s we had to work on? I saw one recently . It seems that DOD either donated or sold these dinosaurs to the Forestry service. The Georgia Forestry Service has taken these things and stripped the canvas shell off the back and they use them to haul water containers. I asked them about Logistical support(parts) and they laughed and said they can't get parts or find anyone to work on them. they usually hook a cable to the front and pull it with a bulldozer. They are really funny looking painted all white. One of my fondest memories was replacing quill pins under the fan tower on these things.Hartman
