Mike Hoover, what's going on? Paul Goodwin here. I remember all the names you mentioned-you were in Special Weapons with Chesley, Welker and Sgt. Mott, right? I remember legoland. Bruno's Pizza accross the street from Rivers-I remember the Ausweg and the MOT and the Fifty and Fasching in February-the Irish Pub in downtown Giessen-and the perpetual cold and mud of Graf. Remember Gunny Hughes? Who could forget. What a dream that all is now. Good training.

Yeah, Hoover, sorry bud, I thought about that later!! Duh, I remember ya! And Yeah, Newell, was he the one that always said "see what I,m saying?" I always wanted to punch him when he said that. I think that that may have been Cpl. _____ though. Were you in the motor pool when we had to break track and were givin a direct order to turn the bolt the wrong way?? I remember that stoopid moment. We were all telling the Sgt that it goes the other way and he said NO!! I said to crank it this way!! Of course we had an extension bar on the wrench and like 4 of us, and finally stripped the damned thing. I believe he got his butt chewed and we hit thebar!! LOL

Hello Mike,
I got to Giessen 1 month before you did. I remember when you arrived. We were in the same gun section (6) & stayed in the same room with PFC Draper, SPCs Mace & Tillison were in our gun section.
I got out in 89, stayed in the reserves until 93 & was commissioned in 2005. I have another year of medical school, then I'll be back on active-duty in the medical corps. Probably going to stay in until I get my 20.
So how have you been? I met up with Paul Goodwin a few times last year & just got in contact with Dennis Welker this past week.
Currently, I'm living in Philadelphia.

My husband and I were also stationed at River's. He was with the 4/7th as a medic. I was stationed with 2/32nd as a Ratt. Would like to here more about River's. If you were with 4/7th in 88 do you remember a guy who fell out of a stairwell window? I was on CQ duty that night and called the ambulance for that guy. I was a bloody mess. Cracked his coconut open real good. Heard he was drunk when he fell out of the window.

Still I'm not surprised though, the same thing probably happened everywhere.
