Meaning something like "inside a cask or barrel". I spent many many hours at Im Fass. It was under a building on the corner of a street I don't remember the name of. Not too far from Grunberger strass I think.
The motif was just as the name says. The booths were barrels embedded in the walls. There was a small area in front with the bar and a few tables. There was a poster over the bar featuring 2 geese flying "United". Fly United. Heh.
A hallway extended back from the right side of the bar and this is where the casks started. There were 4 casks that could hold 4 or maybe 6 people each. Further back there were smaller casks that only held 2 people. Very charming place. I loved it and often had lunch there when I was off.
Anyone else remember this place? It was notable for the lack of Hell Raising GI's and that was the appeal for me anyway. Very low key and welcoming.
I guess it closed or changed name because the Tourism sites don't list Im Fass anywhere. Time marches on, no?
